The Day I Left a Really Dark Post

On yet another windy day, I found myself fighting the wind to take care of some business. Walking down the sidewalk, I noticed a piece of newspaper floating around in the wind. It was folded carefully and what faced me was an article with the headline: "Body found in Suitcase Prompts Investigation." The first thing that entered my mind: "Wouldn't any body found in a suitcase prompt an investigation? Does that headline mean to imply that on a normal day a body found in a suitcase is not investigated?" The second thought that entered my mind: "Who would clip this article?" After my haircut, I was walking past the same area and the same news clipping was on the ground. The first thought that came to my mind: "Who would clip this article?" I bet you can guess what thought followed the first one...If you guessed "pork chops for dinner"...you were correct.

It's my civic duty to post this article here. Don't read this if you're convinced the Armed Forces is comprised of America's finest citizens. It will only spoil that fantasy.
