The Weekend we did it Again

Yes. We made another appearance and the weekend turned into the two day party we get to have every once in a while. Jacob and his surprise moustache came to town, we converted a room full of doubters, and a lot of glass got broke. Things were interesting all weekend long. The above pictures show what the folks watched...and what we saw from stage.

- On Friday, I broke down and told my supervisor about this particular musical project. I might as well just admit it and hope that the issue never gets brought up again. I don't think that is possible, but I didn't feel like making something up. Well..I'll just not bring it up ever again...until tour time.

- Watching the crowd's reaction to the show was very entertaining. At first most didn't know what to think. They weren't sure if they should be dancing, booing, throwing things, or leaving. So they stand there and watch for a while. The ones who 'get it' wind up dancing and cheering and having an all around good time. The ones who don't get it say they felt like they were supposed to get the joke..but couldn't. Whatever the case..the above picture shows that everybody cracked a smile at least once.

- During my verses, I saw some people in the crowd rapping along. At first I got a creepy feeling. Then I started to get comfortable with the thought that people memorized my words. You can use that as a cue if you forget!

- After the show, the customers were treated to a classic bouncer/patron episode of violence. One dude is asking for it. The bouncer is ready to bring it. Before everybody in the bar is looking, we get to see a bottle broken over the patron's head. After a little more pushing and shoving, everybody leaves the bar with another amazing story to tell. This is exactly what happened. In short: (1) guy throws novelty football at bar and breaks bottles; (2) boncers try to escort the patron; (3) Patron gets testy; (4) Bouncer warns patron not to do anything; (5) Patron provokes bouncer; (6) Another bottle gets broken.

- Red-meat consumed this weekend: Meatloaf. I was at a restaurant featuring an 1870's motif. I had no choice but to sample the meatloaf. I'm not sure why I reported it here. Don't mind me.

- Late last night, Steve and Jacob were horsing around and Jacob wound up getting backed into a window. No one else in the apartment reacted to the broken glass noise. I think everybody got used to the sound of breaking glass. I guess this weekend can also be known as: The Broken Glass weekend.

- Returning to the scene of the crime, we witnessed a pretty damn good night of rock and roll on Saturday. Unfortunately, I missed most of the show because I needed to chill out at home for a few hours yesterday. I did get to see New Black. They put on one energetic show. In just a short time, they've recorded a CD, released it, and have a tour in Europe scheduled in the next few months. With their unique sound, they can't go wrong. I recommend you check them out.

- Stay tuned for a surprise tomorrow.
