Yep. It's that time of year again. Millions of Americans will put their lives on hold to witness what I think is becoming the national past time. 64 men's college basketball teams enter the fray and play until one set of kids are standing. In college, it was a time to feel pride for your university. In the corporate world, it's a time to watch the games so you can keep track of your chances to win the pool. I hear millions and millions of dollars of "production" will be lost in the next three weeks. Those to take a few minutes every hour to catch up on the scores cost The Man plenty of money. Well, I get the sense that losing focus this time around is an unspoken exception to the rule. Stuffed shirts around the country finally get a chance to enjoy themselves at the workplace. Once Spring hits, everybody goes for the real money. Um, don't worry...I'm pretty sure I still have a soul.
Speaking of Pools, I had a good afternoon. I was 13 out of 16. This first rounds are where you get your points for tie breaking. The more teams you get to the second round, the more points you can score in the future. No one at work really knows who I am...so pulling in the cash would be pretty funny.
