The Valentines Day I Forgot to Forget (1 of 3)

Shall we take the "Oh, woe is me!" approach? No. Let us not complain about anything. February fourteenth of every year is no different than November, or September fourteenth of every year. Say what you will...I'm not jaded...I just don't take stock in the frenzy that is Valentines day. Here is one of thee possibly hilarious/pathetic/pointless anecdotes from the past ten years of my short life...all having to do with this particular day. The names may or may not have been changed...or have they?!

The year: 1994. Freshman year in high school. Instead of merely liking girls...you try to date them. However at the age of fifteen, you lack mobility, maturity, and common sense. If you didn't have a job, all mating efforts were done at the school. So around this particular week, the school did a carnation delivery thing. You'd pay a buck, write a note, and achieve instant happiness. At the time I had liked this girl for a while. That was a good time to make a move, right? So on that fourteenth of February, it turned out this particular interest of mine wasn't in class, or had something else to do..so she never got the carnation. Somehow, she knew she was supposed to get it...but never actually did. We became friends for a short time after that...I never asked her if she ever received that carnation....and she never brought it up. I should forget about this day...right....now. Ladies = 1, Me = 0.
