The Secret Machines have a new album coming out. If you plug in your headphones, you can sample this album in streaming audio before the release. The music is basically modern with the added touch of Pink Floyd. I plug this CD for those who don't listen to much other than a few select bands. It is a nice change of pace from the usual.
On a tip from Dan, Bitchdork decided to review the first five Yes albums. Whether you love or hate the review stylings of Pitchfork, anyone with a familiarity to the Yes library should give it a read. The review seems to base their thoughts on the music alone as compared to the rest of the 70's prog sound. They don't compare it to todays music. Well, I've only read one album's worth...but trust me on that one. Anywho, out of all the people whom I think read this blog, Casey would know what I'm talking about. Out of my entire high school, Casey was the only other guy I knew who listened to yes. Confidential to Casey: Where have you been, dude?
