Fortune Smiled Upon Me. That's all. A day like this makes me question my intentions as a corporate lackey. I'll be happy once I find a calling I can consider socially beneficial. I'm not sure the souless pursuit of profit on behalf of myself and those who hired me is the right way to finding a spiritually fulfilling living. At the same time, I get the sense that I can successfully carve out a financially comfortable living in my field. This sounds like an inner battle: having a soul vs. living comfortably with money. Overall happiness being the goal, of course.
There may exist a compromise here. Teaching in the fall and selling space in the summer might be the ticket. Perhaps working for a city municipality would be a socially useful way of life. I could do city planning, work on acquiring tax funded property developments, or deal with greenlands and parkspace. Yeah....that could be it. Thanks, readers...I appreciate your help. If I'm staying in the field...I'll look for social responsibility.
