Post Thursday Action

Went to see the Black Eyed Peas tonight (well, last night). As usual, the crowd was mostly white for this alternative hip-hop show. Plenty of asians, too. I was wondering why that was until they started dropping the term filipino, referring to Ap. Just another person representing the blood. We used to joke about famous filipinos (and/or pinoys) back then. I guess we never took the thought seriously. These days, we can. Now there are more and more of them. That's good. Note to self: get famous.

The opening band was the J Davis Trio. Think Cake with a hip-hop emcee who likes to stand behind vibes, flow fast, and play finger cymbals. The bass player loved harmonics though....almost too much. Either way, check them out...it should be a good listen.

On the way home we encountered two drunk girls who looked like they came from a club. Actually, one of the girl's wore a sticker on her short, short skirt that said Bar chicago, so they probably where. They looked pretty young and confirmed it by horsing around on the train. Imagine two scantilly dressed teenagers horsing around on a train...but larger. They had shared a Subway sandwhich and were throwing bits and pieces of each other. One of the girls remarked: "you're ruining my dinner!!" It was 12:30 in the morning. Dinner?!

Its almost 2 am...happy friday.
