Ignore the heat, get off your ass, and enjoy the humidity. That's what I did today. Choosing sunset for my return run seemed like a most prudent idea, but it was damn hot out. However, I was able to run pain free for most of the run. It would have been a full two mile run (I'm coming back slowly, mind you), but a full stomach, humidity, and the heat cut it back a bit. So I learned a few things things from today's run: 1) I can run again, but need to take 'er easy, 2) I should start biking again, 3) A lot of people run near or after sunset down here on the lake path, 4) Sweaty chicks in sports bras and short shorts look exceptionally hott when its almost dark out. We'll see how well I ease back into the routine. I hope the whole calf thing will be the only setback here.

There were too many hot days in this place with little relief. My Croton welcomed me back with leaves drooped straight down, and my fish seemed a bit worn out. Therefore, I left the living room A/C on all day so as to give these lil guys a bit of relief. I feel good about it, but I bet I'll let the fuckers bake when I get the bill at the end of the month.

Its a good book about the decade that was the 1920's set in an aristocratic social setting. I'd recommend it if you had nothing to read and wanted to hear about how a facade of riches can hide - er...I won't spoil anything for you...but the lesson here is:
