This is a focused view of the south loop from the 96th floor of the John Hancock building. I took a few pictures.
One can see all of Chicago and beyond from there. You can see all the main streets in the area, the highways, and the interesting turns of the EL. Don't worry I didn't have one of those "we're so insignificant" moments up there. It is interesting, though to see how little there is beyond the downtown area. The city looks like it rises out of nowhere...like a wart.
From up there, we went to chinatown for dinner. My guest knows a little bit of conversational mandarin, so the people were taken aback that I didn't know any mandarin, but my white friend did. It was the first time I took a white person to a chinese restaurant where he ordered cooked fish. Awesome.
