I still can't settle on a final design for this front page, but I finally figured out how to get a table on the right side of the page. Now all four of you readers don't have to scroll down to see what else has come though my hands recently. Now the next problem is trying to narrow this middle table while the table on the right moves left with it. Notice the gap between the text and the tables on the right. We're definitely not optomized for an 800 x 600 desktop, but whatever...it looks okay to me. I figure...you don't really need to know the recent catalogue if you just want to read the entries...so if you're viewing at 800x600, you'll just see what you need to see. I'll figure out how to get the three sections together and within 800 pixel...eventually. For those like me who use 1024x768...I salute you. Anywho, I thought I could use body margins, but that didn't work. I guess this is a call out there for those design folks who may drop by in the next few days to read this. I'm open to any advice on the issue. Otherwise, here's the new final look...too wide for its own good...
I was looking for design tips when I found random blog. It's a site that sends you to a random blog. There are a few thousand in the database, so the content will definitely vary. Anyway, one of the random blogs featured a terror level meter. I looked at it and my immediate thought was...oh man...its a scared american...but then I actually looked at it and the terror threat is "Bert." I cracked the fuck up. In fact, I laughed so hard, I borrowed it from the guy. Thanks to Geek and Proud dot net, I can keep civilians in the know. Lets hope it doesn't rise to Ernie...
I rode bikes today. I remember using that term as a kid...you know, when you're playing with the kid down the street and he or she says: "lets go ride bikes!" Thinking back on the term, it seems really strange. I mean, it makes sense, but sounds weird to me these days. I guess the standard term has burned itself permanently into my head. Oh well, 15 miles in less than an hour. It felt good. On the way south, I had the wind to my face, so it was a good struggle to stay above the minimum. On the way back, I kept my pace closer to comfortable but taxing. Bottlenecks aside, it was a good ride. In between north and south, I saw some of the big boats...no sails though...I'd say more, but I'm cutting back on the city talk.
The first CD in this music expiriment came in. The expiriment features me purchasing the albums I hear songs from on my random Mp3.com sweeps. I figure inject some unfamiliar music into my catalogue. I'll choose one genre for a while and try to absorb as much as I can before I get sick of it....so.....
As featued in my catalogue, I got a new CD. This album kind of amazed me. The band is from Norway and they've recorded a few albums, but the one I got could be the only one in english. The arrangements blew me away. This music was written fairly well. I guess good musicians are still around. The singer had a very high voice, but not in that falsetto kind of way. He has very good vocal control. Although the rhythms were steady, the music still flowed. I'd say its worth a few listens when you want to sit back and stare at the ceiling. So, if you like intricate arrangements, girlish singing, and emo-esque lamentings....get John Maynard's favourites by the Poor Rich Ones.
Did you like the reading rainbow finish on that last paragraph? Sweeeeet.
