I was staring at my territorial algae eater chasing after the ladies. I'm not sure why the hell he does that, buts its only during feeding time. I mean, its strange..the thing doesn't even bother them Catfish. They must have signed an accord where the bottom feeders decided that while they are enemies, they will unite on the basis of a common enemy against those crazy top feeding livebearers...but I digress...anyway, a new fish appeared out of the plants with them big eyes and curious nature. I guess one of the ladies unloaded her young more than a week ago...and I guess most of that load found a home in the power filter...so the fittest one survived...good for it. I'll make sure to protect it, and future members of Ed's Tank, against technology and its cannibal co-habitants. Er...I mean, I'll make sure natural selection happens as far away from the power filter as possible.
So there's new life in my tank, which means it will be round number 14 or so in my bout against nature to sustain a fish from birth to adulthood. I've failed every time so far...this time will definitely be different...maybe.
I ran 3 miles today. Ran at a faster pace than I had clocked for myself. Ran at six in the fuckin' morning...you must think me to be crazy.
This marks the first day of the next 18 weeks of my adventure...stay tuned.
