I wasn't feelin' up to snuff today. The Girl was just in town and had been subject to a bit of a stomach virus/flu/sickness. She seems to be fine now, but I am on the other end. Her symptoms included nausea, loss of appetite (not gain, mind you), digestive anomalies etc....well, today I have felt those things. Loss of appetite...meals that just sit in the stomach and talk to me...obnoxious gas...on top of that, I was puke-burping all afternoon. So as not to make the day worse, the bus ride home was not air conditioned and it was packed with riders. Fortunately it was an airconditioned ready bus and the windows were screwed shut. Note the sarcasm. I got by reading my book and what not, but what kept me from feeling really ill were the pieces of blonde, brunette and red eye candy strutin' on the sidewalks. Godspeed you, ladies...for my ogles kept my mind off of more vomitous matters.
New DVD's arrived in the mail today. I succumbed to the ads and joined Columbia House's DVD club. I did the math and the whole stinking deal comes out to $10.87 a DVD. I know that most of the selections are from the big production companies...but it will be a good way to get the favorites. I said I'd keep my collection limited to comedies and mind blowers...read: no blockbusters...and I intend to stick with that.
Time to get back on the horse. I went for a run this morning. It was the first since last Tuesday. I was hoping that the rest would have strengthened my lower calves...most painful being the right soleus. Well, it hurt from step one, so I decided to run until it became to the point where I felt like I would crumple to the ground if I stepped wrong...that took all but three/forth's of a mile. I guess I'll have to work this pain out...if it doesn't go away, I'll consult a physical therapist...but at that point...is it worth the $75 marathon fee? We shall see what the addition of ice treatment will do.
The Girl said she woke up all mad one morning because she had dreamt that I had posted hurtful statements on here....then she realized that she was dreaming. I assured her that I would never do such a thing. Private matters will remain private and her anonymity will be preserved.
Confidential to readers: she smells....nice.
Nick's car was stolen this weekend from his lincoln park neighborhood. Its a decent car and the bandits made out with a kick ass stereo car system and two sets of golf clubs. Luckily there wasn't much more than that. A pal of mine had his car stolen in Madison a few years back. He was visiting from Minnesota, so that was kind of a pain. However, the cops recovered his car and it had more gas in it. I don't think Nick will be as lucky. As he said:
Get this. My car got stolen over the weekend. No joke. I've been on the
horn with insurance, cops, etc.
It's gone.
Put that in your blog. I live in a nice neighborhood, on a quiet
street. They stole a 1993 camry with 105000 miles.
(and a great stereo, which I'm sure they're enjoying).
Well, Nick, its on the blog. Hopefully those pricks who took your car are one of the eight weekly viewers of this blog. Otherwise, you're on your own.
