....well, you get the picture. Sometimes I love my job.
A local record store is closing down, so I picked up a few new CD's...New Less Than Jake CD was one of them. I'm giving it its first lesson right now. Total mall-punk. Long gone are the ska-core days of Pezcore. I fondly remember seeing that band open up for Guttermouth in the small Rave bar back in early '97. Right now, all I can say is that the lyrics haven't changed. The drummer/lyricist still doesn't know who he is, where he's going, or what is going to happen...that's something I could count on. Since we're in the Post-Ska era...I won't compare the CD to earlier ones (up to Hello Rockview)...but right now, I think Borders and Boundaries is better.
This morning's 6:30 AM run was tough. It was the slowest and weakest of the week so far. My lower calves smart and I was sickened by my pace. Ever been kicked from behind in the lower calf? That's what it felt like when I ran. Eventually the pain will go away and I should be learning how to run with pain, so it was all gravy. I neglected to set my alarm, but The Girl gave me a 6 AM wake-up call. She's a peach!
My piece of shit MP3 player crashed...luckily I could download the 'fireware'. Hopefully it won't crash as much with the 'updated software.' I'd sure hate to have to resort to buying more CD's if this doesn't work.
3 More lil' fry surfaced in the tank...there's a chance I could get one to survive to adulthood. A winner is me! -
